Center Adult School currently offers courses in English as a Second Language, High School Diploma Completion, GED Test Preparation, and Para-Educator Training. 

All classes are for students 18 years and older who can profit from instruction. 

CLASS SCHEDULE 

2020-2021 Fall Semester classes are being conducted virtually. Access to a computer, laptop or tablet and an internet connection is necessary. Center Adult School offers English courses beginning through advanced levels for speakers of all Non-English Languages. Prior to attending virtual class, students must attend in-person orientation and testing. Social distancing guidelines are in place and masks must be worn by both students and staff. Orientation and testing will take approximately 1.5 hours and is by appointment only.

The HSE Test Preparation Program provides students with assessment and preparation to assist in successfully passing a GED or HiSet test. As part of the registration process, students will need to provide a transcript from their previous school(s). An appointment with our Counselor is mandatory to complete the registration process. Counselor appointments will be available virtually. Prior to attending virtual class, students must attend in-person orientation and testing. Social distancing guidelines are in place and masks must be worn by both students and staff. Orientation and testing will take approximately 1.5 hours and is by appointment only.

The High School Diploma Program is for students earning credits toward a high school diploma. To earn a high school diploma, students must complete, with passing grades, the required course of study. As part of the registration process, students will need to provide a transcript from their previous school(s). An appointment with our Counselor is mandatory to complete the registration process. Counselor appointments will be available virtually. Prior to attending virtual class, students must attend in-person orientation and testing. para-educator training

The Para-Educator Training Program prepares students for employment and effective work as entry-level para-educators or instructional assistants. Topics covered are the roles and responsibilities of a para-educator, workplace communication, job readiness and workplace soft skills, Mandated Reporter training, ESSA test preparation, resume and cover letter development, para-educator interviewing skills, and assistance applying for positions on EdJoin.

A CASAS reading score of 220 - 235 requires co-enrollment in our English as a Second Language (ESL) Program.
