Meet Superintendent Scott A. Loehr

Scott A. Loehr has led the Center Joint Unified School District as Superintendent since 2009.

Loehr began his career in the district in 1996 as a teacher at Oak Hill Elementary before moving into leadership roles, including Academic Coach, Vice Principal, and Principal of Arthur Dudley Elementary School.

Before his current role, he served as Assistant Superintendent. Loehr holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from CSU Chico and an M.A. in Educational Administration from National University, along with Clear California Teaching and Administrative Credentials.

Scott Loehr's dedication to the Center Joint Unified School District stems from a deep appreciation of the district’s unique blend of qualities and attributes. He believes that CJUSD's students are the best, and their enthusiasm and drive provide a constant source of inspiration. He also values the students' supportive and engaged families.

Beyond the students and their families, Mr. Loehr valued the strong sense of community among the staff, considering them a second family. Finally, the district's rich history, long-standing commitment to education, and integral role in the community's fabric filled him with a sense of pride and purpose, solidifying his pride in working in Center Joint Unified School District.
Mission

Mission

Our Superintendent’s Advisory Council conducted a grass roots campaign to update our District Mission. Every household was called, hundreds of students wrote us their ideas, and over 100 employees and community members contributed ideas. We carefully looked at the themes that were raised, and arrived at the following statement:

Students will realize their dreams by developing communication skills, reasoning, integrity, and motivation through academic excellence, a well rounded education, and being active citizens of our diverse community.
the center commitment

the center commitment

Center Joint Unified School District’s commitment is to improve school culture through a TK-12 Action Plan that encompasses three domains: Safety & Wellness, Belonging & Connections and Environment. Within those domains we have identified accomplishments, areas of opportunity and next steps.

The Center Commitment
We believe that ALL students CAN learn and achieve at high levels. It is up to us to assist ALL students in reaching their fullest potential. We believe it is our duty to empower students to realize their dreams by developing communication skills, reasoning, integrity, and motivation through academic excellence, a well rounded education, and being active citizens of our diverse community.

PURPOSE:
  • We make a difference in all that we do.
  • Creating and supporting a positive school culture is everyone’s responsibility.
  • A positive school culture improves students’ academic achievement, attendance, engagement, and behavior, as well as staff satisfaction and retention. Strong relationships are the foundation for a positive school culture.
  • We value the voices of students and caregivers in developing a positive school culture.

Growth

Growth

Over the next 30 to 40 years our community is expected to grow by 27,000 new homes, which will increase our student population by five times. We are looking forward to this exciting future, and are working with our community, planners, and government agency to ensure we have the highest quality of schools and community facilities. One step in that process is providing for school funding, and to that end the Board of Trustees had voted to place a bond authorization on the ballot for the November 4, 2008 general election. The bond measure passed with 61% of our community approving the measure, which will assist us in improving our current facilities and assist us with future school needs.
Balanced Budget

Balanced Budget

Our budget continues to be balanced and are striving to eliminate any deficit spending. We are committed to keeping taxes low, while providing our community with the highest quality educational programs.
Academic Excellence

Academic Excellence

Academic excellence has always been a hallmark of the district. We look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence and are continually improving to meet the current and future needs of all our students.
Secondary School Choices

Secondary School Choices

After students travel through one of our four award winning elementary schools, we have excellent comprehensive secondary schools, including Wilson Riles Middle School, McClellan High and Center High School.

Thank you for your interest in our district and for giving us the opportunity of providing your child with the opportunity to "Realize their Dreams."
