Math Adoption Process
We would like to inform parents and guardians of students in grades 7–12 that our district has begun the process of adopting a math curriculum for the 2026–2027 school year.
As part of this process, the district will pilot several math textbook programs to determine the best instructional materials to support student learning and success. All materials under consideration are carefully reviewed to ensure alignment with the California Common Core State Standards and to meet our students' academic needs.
The piloting phase will take place from January through May 2026. In late Spring, district leadership will present recommendations to the Board of Trustees for consideration and possible adoption for the 2026–2027 school year.
Parents and guardians are invited to review the piloted math materials during the adoption process. Materials will be available in the following locations:
- The CJUSD Curriculum and Instruction Office
- Online access to piloted materials:
- At W.C. Riles Middle School and Center High School (families may contact their student’s math teacher directly for access)
If you have questions about the math adoption process, please contact Becky Lawson at rlawson@centerusd.org.
Why Curriculum Adoption Matters
Curriculum adoption helps ensure our students have access to high-quality, up-to-date instructional materials that align with state standards and support strong learning outcomes. By piloting and reviewing multiple math programs, the district can thoughtfully select materials that best meet our students' needs.
